JFP is relocating to Florida!
Long post alert:
The first photo here is from our son Darien’s senior portrait session, which my wife and I did in Old Town Kissimmee. The second shot is of my wife, made 10 minutes from our new home.
We are in the process of relocating our business (and lives) from Saratoga Springs, NY to Kissimmee, Florida. In fact, my wife and my youngest daughter are already there full-time and I’m back and forth several times a month. I’m finishing up all my existing NY gigs through July 2022 (and I will book new ones through that time, as well), and Jeanette and I are also starting to learn Central Florida so that we can build our business there. After July 2022, we will be back in NY at least a few times each year and we will be doing portrait sessions, etc. when we are in town. So please make sure to follow our social media accounts, as this is where we will alert clients to our NY trips. We may eventually shoot weddings in NY again after July 2022, but — as of right now — we want to focus on building our business in Florida.
Jeanette and I have talked about moving to Florida since the day we met, but there was always a reason not to go — our wedding photography business, our connections in NY, our family. However, I ended up in the hospital with Covid and pneumonia in January, and it felt like it was touch and go. That changed everything. It’s easy to say that tomorrow is not promised. It’s another thing to come close to experiencing it. So, once I recovered, we got a realtor and went to work on living our best life. Our little girl, who loves being outside 24/7, will grow up in the sunshine. I hate the cold, and my wife is happiest with a tan, so Florida is a win all around for us.
Thank you to everyone who — in the last 20 years — has hired JFP to document a moment (and to those who continue to) in NY and beyond. We value the memories we’ve made and the relationships we’ve built. I would have never dreamed a camera could help me achieve the level of happiness it has given me. And I’m looking forward to Jeanette and I using our cameras to keep connecting with people (and earning a living) in Florida.
